DIY! Clean with Vinegar: 7 easy tips with amazing results
We all have it in our kitchens, but are you using vinegar to clean? Vinegar is the superhero of the cleaning world with her top tips for using it around the home.

Fridge odor killer
We tend to develope a lot of weird odors in the fridge, but a quick and easy way to get rid of those odors is to fill a glass or a dish with plain white vinegar, pop it in the fridge and the vinegar will absorb the odors.
Dishwasher rinse
Vinegar is incredible for your dishwasher, not only helps to break down some of those odors that go on in this tiny space, it also helps to reduce soap scum and hard water stains from forming during the wash, that means less streaks and less water marks when you take out your clean stuff. All you need to do is add one to two cups of white vinegar to a dishwasher safe Bowl, put it on the top rack of your dishwasher, add regular soap and run through your load as usual. When you unload your dishwasher, you'll see you have less streaks and less water marks.
Chrome polish
If you notice that your bathroom faucet or any chrome fixture in your house gets sort of that fuzzy coating on it, and it looks not shiny, there's a quick way to fix that, just dip a microfiber cloth in plain white vinegar and wipe it around the fixture. The vinegar will help to break down any of those hard water deposits or soap scum that might leave your chrome
looking a little lackluster.
Cutlery care Get your cutlery shining again with vinegar. All you need to do is fill a dish half way with water half way with white vinegar, soak your cutlery for about 10 minutes or so and then pull it out piece by piece and wipe it with a microfiber cloth. The vinegar will help shine up the cutlery and remove any of those watermarks or any food that didn't come off from the dishwasher.
Carpet Stains
We’ve all been there, particularly if you have children. Vinegar can really help remove unwanted marks. Simply apply neat to the stain and leave it to work for about 15 minutes, then blot the stain with a white cloth or paper towel (this way, you can actually see if the stain is lifting). Repeat the process, if necessary, then rinse using a wet cloth with a little washing-up liquid.Â
Freshen up laundry
Add 1 capful vinegar to the machine if you feel your laundry is looking a little dull (use the same cap you use for dispensing your detergent). Your colours will come out bolder and your whites whiter.
Remove grass stains
Combine 80 ml/1/3 cup white wine vinegar with 160 ml/2/3cup water. Apply the solution to the stain and blot with a clean cloth. Repeat this process until you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible, then wash as usual.
